Garage doors fail to fit for reasons that have nothing to do with the opening width. Take five measurements, not one.
The five numbers
Write these down before you come in and we can quote the right track configuration the first time.
- Opening width and height, at the finished jamb
- Side room — the space from each side of the opening to the nearest wall
- Headroom — from the top of the opening to the ceiling or lowest obstruction
- Backroom — from the opening back into the garage
- Any obstruction: ductwork, lights, storage racks, or a low beam
Low headroom has a solution
If you are short on headroom, low-headroom track and a jackshaft opener usually solve it without framing changes. Tell us the number and we will spec around it.
Talk it through with us
Bring your plans, sketches, or photos to any of our four Central Michigan yards. We will walk the options with you, pull real samples, and put together a material list you can build from. Estimating is free for any project.
